Senior PALS Transportation Program

PALS is an easy-to-use, affordable program that helps senior adults maintain their independence by providing transportation services to activities such as: grocery shopping, medical appointments, personal appointments, volunteer activities, and many more! We also offer a wheelchair-accessible van, featuring an easy entry/exit ramp for walkers.

Assistance to and through the door is available, as well as escort services that can accompany you to your appointment. Escort services have an additional fee of $10/hour.

PALS operates Monday — Friday,
9am—5pm
Cost: $8 one-way, $15 round-trip
All PALS fees cover rides within a 25-mile radius.

For every 10 miles over 25, there is a $5 surcharge.

Caregiver Support Group

JFCS offers a variety of caregiver support groups to help adult children of aging parents learn about community resources and ways to balance their needs with those of aging relatives. Job Seekers Resource Group

Options for the Mature Worker

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Groups

A support group for anyone raising grandchildren or other relatives.

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Sessions
This support group (adults only) meets at JFCS, every third Monday at 2 p.m. Call Jo Ann Kalb at ext. 335 to RSVP or if you need further information.

 

Diabetes Support Group

This group is available for individuals with diabetes to have the chance to talk about having a chronic condition and share the ways they cope. The group is free to the public and will meet the third Monday of each month at 2 pm. Contact Edie Mahaffey at (502) 452-6341 ext. 309.

This group is available for individuals who are caring for a person with Alzheimer’s or other cognitive impairment. Join us for support, friendship, great ideas, and interesting programs.
